Giovanni Comuzzo

Principal Physiotherapist/Director

Giovanni (or Gio as he is known to his patients) is the principal physiotherapist of Performance Rehab. Upon graduating from university in 2010 he gained further specialised qualifications in rehabilitation with a return to work and pain management focus. Giovanni has spent the last 9 years perfecting his manual therapy skills and currently excels in the following areas;

  • Pre and post surgical management
  • Treatment of specific adolescent conditions
  • Treatment of soft tissue and joint injuries
  • Pain management of chronic conditions
  • Sport specific management
  • Functional retraining (sport, work or daily life)

Given the reputation Giovanni has built up in Auckland this has allowed him to create strong working relationships with some of Auckland’s top Orthopaedic Surgeons and Sports Physicians allowing for prompt management and care of specific injuries/conditions.

In his spare time Giovanni is kept busy serving his community by completing weekly shifts as a volunteer fire fighter as well as keeping an active lifestyle.

Jo Sinton

Senior Physiotherapist

Jo graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science – Physiotherapy degree from Sydney University in 1998.

Upon graduation, Jo worked in the Public Health systems both in Australia and England, before moving to NZ in 2002.

Since moving to NZ Jo has worked within the private practice setting. Her passion for sport and fitness has seen her work with the inaugural LG Mystics netball team, training camps for U13/U15 NZ football, Auckland-Waitakere Netball NPC teams, The Diamonds netball team, NZ Secondary Schools netball team, The Sonics Women’s Basketball team, and more recently Touch North Harbour Masters teams at Nationals and the World Master’s Games.

Jo has a hands on approach to treatment and rehabilitation, and regularly attends courses to remain up to date with the current knowledge within the field of Physiotherapy.

Josie Skinner

BHSc (physiotherapy)

Josie graduated from AUT in 2019 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

While studying she worked as a health care assistant in aged care which helped her gain valuable experience working with patients and helping maximize their quality of life. She also volunteered in neuro rehab facilitating exercise classes. Josie had a placement in musculoskeletal private practice which consolidated her interest in and helped her gain extensive and valuable experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Josie has a holistic and individualized approach to working with patients and is very dedicated to working with them to manage pain and achieve their personal goals. In her free time Josie enjoys yoga and pilates.

Debbie Craighead

Clinic Administration Officer

Debbie is the friendly face who will greet you at reception. She started working as a receptionist in a physiotherapy clinic in 2006 working her way up to Practice Management. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience dealing with all physio administration tasks and is an expert when it comes to dealing with ACC, generating new claims and ensuring the documentation is completed correctly and giving you the correct information and informative advice in regards to your claim. On a personal note, Debbie is happily married to Andrew and has 2 adult children, both married and a lovely wee granddaughter who is the light of her life. She enjoys spending time with family, entertaining and socialising and also enjoys lots of walking. If you live in the Kumeu/Huapai area you may just see her out pounding the streets.
